About Zac

Zac assists a diverse range of clients, including executives of publicly listed companies, corporate and family-owned businesses, high net-wealth individuals and family groups. He is known for achieving successful outcomes for often-complex legal matters, efficiently and cost effectively.

A solicitor with the High Court of Australia and Supreme Court of Queensland and Managing Director of Hillhouse Legal Partners, a leading Brisbane law firm, Zac is in a somewhat unique position. He is a highly respected and skilled legal practitioner representing prominent clients and responsible for leading Hillhouse’s responsive business strategy.

This dual role provides Zac with rare insight into the needs and support required by executives who are tasked with achieving solutions in balance with time and cost management. Zac’s experience covers business sectors as varied as medical, aged care, mining and resources, tech and e-commerce, professional services, aviation, transport and agri-business.

Describing his key skill as ‘commerciality’, Zac is pragmatic yet empathetic, engaging a solutions-focused approach that begins by simply putting his feet in his client shoes.

A strong and effective communicator, Zac leads discussions that clarify needs, values and goals. He quickly distils complexity to straightforward explanations outlining efficient pathways for as he says, “getting from point A to point B”.

Zac is also accomplished in identifying and actioning additional opportunities that can add considerable value to client outcomes.

With expertise in corporate and commercial law, litigation, dispute resolution, corporate governance and hands-on executive management of his own firm, Zac is grounded in a breadth of experience that provides both legal advice and practical help for executives and managers throughout the business life cycle.

It’s no surprise Zac enjoys a reputation as a knowledgeable and intuitive professional, and has a legacy of clients, often second and third generation clients, who consider him a trusted and valued member of their inner circle.

Personally…
Zac is energetic and highly motivated. He thrives on building strategic working relationships with his clients and driving his business forward. Naturally inclusive, he listens and benefits from the mentorship and valuable perspective of others who have ‘done it before me’.

It’s not all business… Born in Sydney, but raised in Brisbane, Zac takes time out for himself and his family.  Exercise – running and riding – clears his head or perhaps, in Zac’s case, enables more information to be added!

Asked what he’d like to be remembered for, he answers without hesitation…”Being a very heavily involved, engaged and supportive parent and spouse.”

Married with a young family, Zac is abundantly aware that childhood is fleeting.  His goal is to have fun with his children as they grow and develop, and ensure that the childhood they experience, is a great one.
